Hunger Games

Hunger Games Trilogy

Have you ever heard of a world with 12 districts plus a capitol who has each district pick two tributes-a girl and a boy-to fight to the death as an entertainment? In the Suzanne Collins trilogy, The Hunger Games, this is life. In the first book of the series, a 16-year-old girl, Katniss, is chosen to be in the games. She knows she doesn’t stand a chance, but what happens when she falls in love with the boy tribute, Peeta, or “the boy with the bread?” Both having to leave their friends and family in district 12, they go on a thrilling adventure with sadness and surprises while they prepare for the games. And that’s just where it begins. But don’t stop there! Read the following books, Catching Fire and Mokingjay. When I first started the series, I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m obsessed with it!

Sailin’ Away

At the end of June, 2011, my family and I went on The Dream {a new disney cruise} to celebrate my grandparents’ 45th anniversary! It was my parents, my sister, my dads two brothers, one of my dads brothers wife, and their two kids, my nana and grandpa, and my nana’s sister, and me. We saw Cars 2 in 3D right on the boat! I really enjoyed the Karaoke Nights! I came almost every night, so I was called the Karaoke Queen.

The kids club was also fun. They had a bunch of the characters come out like Lilo, Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and even Pluto! My favorite game that we played was called Gaga ball. You pass the ball with your hands, and try to hit people with it. The hard part is that you can’t kick the ball! But, the real excitement was the Aqua Duck. You want to get there  while you are docked, because there are no lines! You can ride solo, or with a friend. But, I don’t want to spoil the magic for you!

4th Grade Program

At school, every grade got a special program written by our amazing music teacher, Mrs. Carter. The fourth grade program was called Indiana A to Z. It was a bunch of Indiana facts from the Amish to Zionsville! Everybody got a special part. I was an IU cheerleader. We met three times before school, and made up a cheer. There were also Butler cheerleaders and Purdue cheerleaders. My first choice was IU because my mom went there.

All fourth graders would practice during class at a different times. My class got a special oppurtunity as to reciting the Gettysburg Address in front of the whole audience. There are two shows. A dress rehearsel in front of the rest of the school during class, and one after school for the parents. We all got to dress up in pioneer outfits, and sing a lot of songs that we learn in music. All the fourth grade loves the programs that are put together.

sNOw days!

The only day this week so far that I have gone to school is Monday, due to terrible weather. We had two ice blizzards two days in a row! The ice is two inches deep on my driveway, and it is SO slippery!!! So, to get the mail {Which is down my driveway}, I have to put on my snow pants, and SLIDE down the driveway! {very carefully} It is nearly impossible to get the ice off the driveway. We have to take really sharp shovels and just DIG them in there!
